ABOUT JAKE’S HOUSE EMPLOYMENT TRAINING PROGRAM

Jake’s House Employment Training Program is an innovative, adaptable program that supports the integration of individuals aged 16+ years with autism or a developmental disability, into the workforce. Through skills development and training programs followed by placements at companies in diverse fields, the individuals receive opportunities to develop their employment skills and demonstrate them to employers looking to build strong, vibrant teams, all under the personal guidance of trained instructors and caring mentors.

Jake’s House Skills Development Training Program & Industry Training Programs 

You have the choice to participate in one or both of the following phases before exploring career opportunities. (Note: An application process is required).

Phase 1: Enroll in our Skills Development Program for 80 hours of practical training in essential life skills such as financial management, transportation, communication, as well as employment preparation and career development. Available at 3 locations – Ottawa, London and Toronto.* 

Phase 2: Enroll in one of our Industry Training Programs; Pre-Apprenticeship Construction Craft worker training at LiUNA Training Centre (2 weeks), Security Training with Regal Security.

*All programs are complimentary, and transportation to and from training facilities is included for all candidates. 

Career Opportunities 

Jake’s House is committed to matching over 100 candidates with volunteer or employment opportunities by March 2024
